Pathfinding - A while back I had implemented a simple path finding algorithm based on A*. I wanted to test it out and extend it to have parent nodes for more efficient path finding. I grabbed some of the tiles from Ultima IV to use for my test. It turned out real well. Each type of terrain has a different movement cost, and the AI will pick the optimal path from one location to another.
Landscape Texturing - I also wanted to play with landscape textures. Not using shaders, but instead, the old style combiners. I may keep playing with it.
Maybe I'll combine the two. It may turn out as good as chocolate and peanut butter.
